At Holy Spirit Primary School Thornbury East, we celebrate the rich diversity of experiences, cultures, strengths and abilities that each learner brings to our community.
Age, culture, faith, background and individual learning needs all shape how children learn and engage with the world around them. We are committed to providing an inclusive education that responds to the unique needs of every student, ensuring all children feel valued, supported and empowered to flourish.
Grounded in our Catholic faith, we strive to ensure every child experiences God’s love and care while developing a positive sense of achievement through growth, success and belonging. We believe in meeting students where they are and encouraging them to grow with confidence.
Through collaboration between classroom teachers, specialist staff and Learning Support Officers, support is provided in a variety of ways, including:
- In-class support and differentiation
- Small group learning opportunities
- Individual learning support
- Targeted intervention programs
- Social and emotional learning support
Our Learning Diversity team works closely with teachers to target student learning needs, develop Individual Learning Plans, support assessment in English and Mathematics and liaise with families and external agencies where required.
We value strong partnerships with families and support agencies and believe that collaboration is essential in helping every child thrive. By nurturing positive relationships with students, we are able to better understand their strengths, interests, needs and aspirations.
At Holy Spirit, we know our students, meet them at their point of need and work together to help each child reach their personal summit of success.
