MACS Vision for Engagement

At Holy Spirit Primary School, our approach to student wellbeing and engagement is guided by the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS)Vision of Engagement. We are committed to creating safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments where every student feels connected, valued and empowered to participate fully in school life.

We recognise that positive relationships, strong wellbeing supports and engaging learning experiences are essential for student success and belonging.

What This Looks Like at Holy Spirit

Motivation

At Holy Spirit, student motivation is strengthened through our alignment with the MACS Vision for Instruction. Learning experiences are purposeful, engaging and designed to support every student to experience growth and success. Teachers provide clear learning goals, explicit teaching and meaningful feedback so students can build confidence, resilience and a positive mindset towards learning.

Attendance

Regular school attendance is highly valued and strongly encouraged at Holy Spirit. We prioritise creating a safe, welcoming and connected environment where students feel supported and ready to engage in learning each day.

Belonging

We strive to ensure every student feels known, valued and included within our school community. Opportunities for participation, student voice, faith development and community involvement help foster a strong sense of connection and belonging for all learners and families.

Relationships

Positive partnerships between students, teachers and families are central to student wellbeing and success. We value respectful communication, collaboration and shared responsibility in supporting each child’s learning and personal growth.

Behaviour Curriculum

At Holy Spirit, positive behaviours are explicitly taught, modelled and reinforced through our Positive Behaviour Learning framework. Students are supported to understand clear expectations, develop self-regulation skills and contribute positively to a safe and respectful learning environment.

Learning Culture and Inclusive Learning Environments

We are committed to building a positive learning culture where all students are encouraged to participate, take risks and achieve success. Inclusive practices, differentiated teaching and targeted supports ensure learning environments are responsive to the diverse strengths and needs of every learner.
