At Holy Spirit Primary School Thornbury East, the Parents Association plays a valuable role in strengthening the partnership between families, staff and the wider school community. Guided by the principles of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), the Parents Association supports community engagement, parent participation and collaboration in school life.
In alignment with MACS policy and the shared responsibility of Catholic education, the Parents Association works to foster a welcoming, inclusive and connected school community where families have opportunities to contribute positively to student wellbeing and school culture.
Purpose of the Parents Association
- Strengthening School Community: Building positive relationships between families, staff and students to foster belonging and connection
- Encouraging Parent Engagement: Providing opportunities for families to actively participate in school life and community events
- Supporting Student Wellbeing and Learning: Contributing to initiatives, experiences and resources that benefit students and enhance school life
- Promoting Community Spirit: Creating opportunities for families to gather, celebrate and build strong community connections
- Supporting School Initiatives: Working collaboratively with school leadership to support identified school priorities and projects
The Parents Association plays an important role in coordinating and supporting a range of community-building and fundraising events throughout the year.
