Fire Carrier

At Holy Spirit Primary School Thornbury East, our Fire Carrier initiative is an important part of our commitment to reconciliation, cultural understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The Fire Carrier program encourages students to actively promote the values of respect, inclusion, justice and truth-telling within our school community. Inspired by the idea of “carrying the fire” of reconciliation forward, Fire Carriers help strengthen awareness and appreciation of Australia’s First Nations cultures, histories and perspectives.
